Associate/Associate Director, Financial Institution Ratings
The Location: Singapore
The Role: You will primarily undertake credit analysis on banks and finance companies in South and South-East Asia. You will be required to perform analytical work, write reports and demonstrate your analytical insight to internal and external audiences. This Singapore-based role will involve travelling primarily in South & South-East Asia.
You will develop and maintain relationships with key market participants (e.g. issuers, intermediaries, investors, regulators). You will acquire a deep understanding of industry trend and issues, and be ready to be provide insightful opinions on material developments. Strong communication skills are required for this client-facing role.
The Candidate: You will demonstrate a strong interest in the sector, understand the business environment and relevant regulations and connect the dots. You have prior credit analysis experience covering the financial sector and can succinctly articulate your thoughts.
We are looking for an energetic self-starter who has an analytical mindset and is always thinking outside the box. You will be a strong Team player who can work in a global, multi-cultural and regulated environment. It's great if you also have an interest in Tech disruptions.
Responsibilities: - Prepare and present credit analysis and recommendations to credit committees
- Publish timely credit reports and research pieces in a fast-paced environment
- Continuously monitor operating performance of rated companies, including reviews of public filings and private information supplied by issuers, and participate in client meetings
- Contribute to global & regional analytical projects and working groups
- Articulate research findings and analytical recommendations in a logical and coherent manner
- Demonstrate service excellence and professionalism towards external and internal clients
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree, Advanced degree, CFA charter holder or CPA is a plus
- Minimum 3 - 7 years of relevant experience in an analytical or research position
- Strong accounting knowledge and proficient interpreting financial statements
- Fluent Putonghua language skills is a plus, though not required.
