BNY Mellon Data and Analytics Solutions is a public- and private-cloud-based software and content offering that builds client-centric data, technology, and content capabilities. Operating with the skill and agility of a fintech, Data and Analytics Solutions combines the expertise and resources of the Eagle product suite, Intermediary Analytics, and other BNY Mellon technology and data assets.
As a fintech embedded in BNY Mellon, Eagle Products is a large part of the DNA product suite providing users with Accounting, Data Management, Performance and Tax Analysis features. Eagle products are used by the largest financial firms in the world and have over $40 trillion in assets under management.
Summary:
Our Head of Technical Architecture for our Data Vault platform is seeking software engineers at various level. The Data Vault is a platform designed to address the logistical overhead commonly associated with data intensive projects. In broad terms, the platform services the following functions:
- Data warehousing
- Data discovery
- Data platform federation
- Data technology abstraction
- Data analytics
- Data interop (via industry standard drivers/API's).
What we need:
- Highly experienced hands-on engineers with deep experience in the following areas:
1) SQL and relational data
2) Java (server-side engineering)
3) Antlr (or other language/grammar framework) - More junior individuals looking to grow their technical and industry experience within the context of a technical support and SME role in support of the above platform. Experience:
1) SQL and relational data
2) Python and Jupyter notebooks
3) Java (optional, but ideal
The platform is highly visible (both within the firm and on the street) and is an area of strategic investment as both an internal-use platform, as well as a client-facing revenue generating product.
You will be working on Java, SpringBoot, Python, and JavaScript (Angular), Scala. The platform runs in the Azure cloud and leverages cloud-based technologies like MySQL, Cosmos, Snowflake, Service Bus, Event Hub, Redis, Elasticsearch, Postgres, Spark, AzureML. We have a sophisticated CI/CD environment incorporating the latest DevOps technologies and best practices.

Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree is beneficial. 14+ years of experience in software development required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus. Job holder must have understanding interdependencies and business impact of future IT plans. S/he must have extensive experience selecting and implementing vendor-specific methodologies and prior consulting experience with structured methodologies.
