Job Summary
The SEO Director is responsible for helping to increase organic traffic to Morgan Stanley's website, with a particular focus on our target audiences and relevant search intent. The ideal candidate is a performance-driven SEO expert who also understands the importance of brand, someone who knows the ideal character count for a title tag and can also craft a clicky meta description or work a keyword into an H1 in an artful way. The role will support the VP, SEO on on-page and technical projects at the corporate level, as well as with our business unit partners. The director will work closely with internal stakeholders (from content marketers to product marketers to technology to UX) to optimize existing content and develop recommendations for new content to meet search demand. The person in this role will also be responsible for SEO reporting. The SEO Director will report to the VP, SEO.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop on-page and content optimizations for firmwide and business units
- Create on-page optimizations (title tags, meta descriptions, header tags)
- Support editorial content team with keyword and SERP research
- Perform new content whitespace research
- Perform SEO audits and recommendations for new pages
- Serve as main SEO point of contact for specific business units
- Answer general search related questions and issues from individuals
- Educate on SEO best practices, including SEO 101 training
- Provide on-page and content optimizations
- Work with tech teams to implement metadata and linking updates
- Work with tech teams to provide SEO technical recommendations and collaborate on SEO technical ticket
- Manage the review and optimization implementations for existing pages
- Monitor technical SEO factors regularly
- Identify opportunities to improve internal linking strategies
- Assist in identifying and validating technical optimizations
- Monitor and address technical issues raised in Google Search Console
- Handle reporting
- Monitor and report site performance in response to Google Search algorithm updates
- Create and monitor weekly dashboards for SEO performance of individual business units pages
- Create Firmwide SEO monthly reports for traffic, keyword, conversion, and off-site performance
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 5 years experience in an SEO management role, client side or agency
- Experience with analytics as they relate to SEO Adobe Analytics experience desired
- Experience with SEO tools Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, SEMRush, and AHREFs preferred
- Understanding of what factors drive success in SEO in 2022
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Collaborative personality, with equal interest in sharing talents as well as learning from others
- Sense of humor is a plus
