About the role
As the ESG Risk Manager, you will be supporting the Head of ESG Risk in working with internal stakeholders on the impacts of climate change, modern salve, human rights action plan, human rights policy, sustainability line 1, supporting and providing feedback on the business and implementing a climate action plan in line with the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).
Assist in the research and analysis of ESG related trends and risks
Work with the business and external experts to undertake technical analysis, modelling and assessment of environmental and social risks and opportunities, particularly in relation to business exposure to climate-related risks (this may include involvement in industry pilots related to the TCFD)
Work with the ESG risk team to provide ESG risks insights to help inform business activity such as strategic planning, sensitive sector analysis, sovereign risk analysis, investments decisions, M&A etc
Support the development and implementation of a climate change policy and detailed action plan, particularly in relation to scenario planning and the development of metrics & targets
Support the development of specific policies to address ESG risks
Work with Group Sustainability in the preparation of analytical data required for analyst surveys and external reporting that requires an outline of climate / ESG risk management e.g. CDP, DJSI, PSI reporting, Sustainability Report
Conduct research and analysis into current and emerging climate / ESG risks and trends and the potential financial / non-financial impacts on the business
Support the ESG Risk team with internal and external stakeholder engagement (e.g. Climate Change Working Group, Risk, Finance, Investments, Underwriting, Claims, Operations, ESG Committee members)
Support the development of materials to engage stakeholders
Support in the analysis of ESG risk insights to help inform business activity such as strategic planning, sensitive sector analysis, sovereign risk analysis, investments decisions, M&A etc
Support Risk and Finance in meeting deadlines for shareholder reporting requirements (including Board reporting, RMS and other reporting needs)
The successful candidate
Experience in ESG issues, trends and risks, particularly climate change
Experience working with a diverse and complex set of stakeholders
Analytical, reporting, research or risk management experience in financial or professional services in a similar role
Commercial acumen and ability to articulate the business drivers for climate-risk / ESG risk management
