CME Group is currently looking for a Data Science summer intern to assist the Business Analytics (BA) and Entity Data Management (EDM) teams.
The candidate will assist the BA team with its monthly and quarterly performance functions and analytics projects. The candidate will also assist the EDM team with the development and maintenance of legal entity hierarchies for customer firms purchasing its trading and data services products.
Assist the BA team with the development and maintenance of Tableau dashboards used for performance reporting and analytics
Support the BA teams monthly and quarterly reporting functions by generating analytics and reviewing performance metrics
Utilize Business Intelligence software (e.g. Business Objects, QlikView, Tableau) to query data and generate insightful analytics
Assist the EDM team by researching and structuring information from internal and external data sources to validate and produce entity hierarchies
Maintenance and creation of core entity and reference data within CME's entity management repositories
Enhance and update current Tableau dashboards that display trading firm legal entity data
Skills / Software Requirements:
Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint Word
Tableau experience - ability to create dashboards, connect data source, and automate the update process
Ability to query, analyze, interpret, and provide insights for data at a product, customer, and region level
SQL and Python experience
Strong written and oral communication skills for providing insights
Time management skills including ability to multi-task and prioritize
Education: Currently pursuing a BA/BS or Masters Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or quantitative Business field
Location Chicago - prefer candidates who can work in CME Group's Chicago office
