Cedars-Sinai's Office of Licensure, Accreditation and Regulation (OLAR) assists the organization in staying current and aligned with all the various regulatory standards, licensure requirements, survey preparations, and other regulated processes.
As a Surveillance Specialist for OLAR, in association with the Controlled Substance Pharmacy team, you will provide ongoing coordination, monitoring, education, evaluation and support to organization leaders with controlled substance diversion prevention.
You will utilize diversion monitoring software, review MIDAS and other controlled substance reports.
You will perform Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) audits for controlled substance surveillance and investigation.
You will also collaborate with the Medication Safety RN to lead in the collection, analysis and development of performance improvement plans for controlled substances.
You will serve as a resource to OLAR, Pharmacy leadership team, Nursing and Performance Improvement.
Healthcare Accreditation Program specialty certification required within one year of hire.
Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Professional inpatient Safety (CPPS), Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Certified Joint Commission Professional (CJCP) and Healthcare Accreditation Certified Professional (HACP) certifications preferred.
Minimum 3 years recent acute medical center RN experience.
Knowledge of MIDAS and Epic EHR software applications.
Experience with the management of controlled substances.
