The HSBC Global Asset Management (AM) is investing in its Trading platform to leverage broker relationships and to optimize trading through technology, automation, standardization and advanced analytics. At the same time, Trading is also moving from a purely local entity based structure to a global functional team structure.
The role holder will need to act in the capacity of a Trader and a subject matter expert with the expectation that they provide hands on participation in key projects from a technical perspective.
Under the leadership of the Head of Fixed Income Trading, we require a Trader that can contribute actively to the strategic changes that are being implemented. In particular, the role holder will need to contribute to the better sourcing of assets (particularly less liquid assets in the US) and contribute to automation, primary access, and sourcing across asset classes.
Applicants must have experience in Trading, have worked in a global environment and possess strong communication and cross-border collaboration skills.

2-3 years' Trading experience at a buy side or sell side institution
Graduate Degree or masters educated with significant experience in investment management
Highly capable communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships esp FO teams(PM) and external counterparties
Strong knowledge and understanding of fixed income, trading practices in particular less liquid Fixed Income assets
Excellent IT skills; Excel, Bloomberg and trading platforms (Marketaxess, Tradeweb, Fxall...)
Strong understanding and interested in financial markets
Confident, articulate with the ability to thrive under pressure
