DRP is looking for a highly driven and organized Real Estate Services Manager to join our team, working to ensure that Southeast Michigan has the necessary real estate inventory to attract major corporate facilities and new jobs to the area. The Real Estate Services Manger will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the DRP’s new regional site readiness initiative, the Verified Industrial Properties (VIP) program. With your effective communication and relationship management skills, you will engage a broad swath of the Region’s real estate community, including site owners, brokers, and developers, to promote awareness of the VIP Program and secure the participation of new industrial sites. You will use your strong project management skills to ensure deliverables from program partners and vendors progress on track and on time. As the team’s resident real estate expert, you will also be tasked with additional real estate support for the DRP Business Development team strategy and corporate attraction clients.
To be successful in this role you must have a strong passion for the Detroit Region, a familiarity with the area’s industrial real estate market, and strong experience with project/program management. Additional familiarity with the field of economic development and site analysis or the development of industrial facilities is highly preferred.
What You Will Get To Do:
You will support the DRP team in promoting visibility of the VIP Program within the local Detroit-area real estate community, including site owners, brokers, and developers (40%)
You will cultivate and maintain the inventory of priority industrial sites for potential inclusion into the VIP Program
You will participate in presentations to real estate industry stakeholders about the value of the VIP Program and how to get engaged
You will develop and maintain a pipeline of interested site representatives for inclusion into the program
You will support the DRP team in refining and implementing VIP Program marketing
You will serve as the lead for all internal processes and responsibilities related to the VIP program (40%)
You will manage intake of new sites that are exploring participation in the VIP Program, and manage progression of sites through the program, from initial intake meeting to final deliverables
You will maintain a strong tracking system, outlining each site’s status within the VIP Program
You will coordinate with DRP internal teams to ensure site information and documents are properly archived, uploaded to the VIP Program websites, and communicated to the to the DRP Business Development and Marketing teams
You will assist with the identification and development of process improvement for the VIP Program
You will manage bi-weekly meetings with VIP engineering service providers and VIP program authorizers
You will manage meetings for the VIP Program Advisory Committee
You will manage all VIP engineering service provider contracts, work orders, and invoices
You will ensure VIP Program leadership (the Director and Senior Vice President) are informed of program activities, and will integrate new direction as required (10%)
You will manage all internal coordination across DRP teams and vendors on program activities as required (10%)
What Makes You A Great Candidate:
• You have 2-5 years of professional experience in urban planning, commercial real estate, construction management, or other related industry • You have a bachelor’s degree in business, civil engineering, construction management, urban planning, or similar field • You have experience or familiarity with economic development • You have strong, demonstrated project/program management experience • You are familiar with site analysis and the development of industrial facilities • Excellent relationship-building skills that cultivate strong partnerships, champions, and advocates, and inspire credibility and trust with all levels of internal and external stakeholders. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong Microsoft PowerPoint presentation skills, and CRM experience. Salesforce desired. • Commitment to stay current in the field through research, information exchange, education, and event attendance. • Ability to perform activities with a clear sense of urgency, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment. • Strong commitment to the success of the position, organization, and the Region. • Willingness to travel within the Southeast Michigan region.
