Manage and coordinate all building engineering aspects of Walmart new/remodel prototypes and utility changes, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire, refrigeration, and data engineering. Partner with Prototype Team Architecture Managers to coordinate prototype engineering design with architecture, civil and structural engineering as required.
Manage and coordinate with internal stakeholder teams for user input and alignment, including operations, facilities management, procurement, and finance, as well as project teams including site-adapt design, construction, and project management.
Receive change requests from leadership/stakeholder/partner teams; manage the change management process for all prototype engineering changes, including defining the request, collaborating with key stakeholders for alignment, developing design recommendations with scope, cost, and schedule impacts, and building clear, fact-based presentations for approval.
Partner with Refrigeration Team to support strategic innovations and refrigeration tests and integrate approved engineering designs into prototype standards as required.
Manage Walmart building engineering design and standards for all prototypes and related utility changes with support of external consultants.
Actively manage consultants with clear direction to define services required to develop/execute changes
Actively manage consultant budgets with fiscal accountability to Walmart, including clear understanding of budget & scope, and required budget increases
Partner with internal stakeholders and user teams to receive ongoing feedback for improvement of prototype engineering designs.
Responsible for continual improvement and innovation to achieve optimum functionality and durability, with lowest total landed costs that achieve customer/associate experience targets.
Manage the safety, security, durability, and integrity of all prototype engineering designs ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local building codes, as well as applicable corporate compliance, food safety, and asset management requirements.
