BU's Campus Planning & Operations group is seeking a creative individual to join the Informatics and Strategic Initiatives team to develop and implement proactive communications to support the University's Facilities, Planning Design & Construction, Real Estate, and Police departments. The communications specialist will support the associate director for communications in writing and editing articles, developing social media content, distributing campus-wide newsletters, and maintaining websites, and developing reports to brief leadership. This position will also be responsible for keeping track of web and social media analytics and providing regular reports on KPIs. Experience with HTML and CSS and using content management systems such as WordPress required.
Bachelors Degree in related field Communications, Media Relations, Marketing or equivalent experience. Experience in higher education a plus. Creative graphic design, multimedia, and social media communications skills. Photography experience a plus. Must be fluent in social media platforms and tools including social media scheduling platforms such as Sprinklr or Hootsuite. Familiarity with HTML, CSS, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), MailChimp, and Excel required. A self-starter and collaborator who demonstrates strong communications, problem solving, and strategic thinking skills.
