The Analyst, Real Estate Investments will play an instrumental role in supporting TAS’s acquisition process and private equity platform. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Post-secondary degree in Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, Urban Planning or a related field, professional designations (i.e. CPA, CFA) or the pursuit thereof is considered an asset
1-2 years of relevant experience in a real-estate, investment banking, management consulting, private equity, corporate finance or the equivalent thereof via internships, summer placements etc.
Comfort and familiarity with financial modelling
Able to distill and synthesize complex quantitative and qualitative information into presentations for executive team, lenders, and investors
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
Sound analytical and quantitative skills, rigorous attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Entrepreneurial with a high level of ownership and accountability
Strong work ethic, willing to go the extra mile to complete tasks to highest standards
Proactive with sound planning, prioritization, and execution skills
A team player who can also work independently
Curious and collaborative, with a strong drive for innovation and creative problem solving
Confident with an approachable and professional style
Passionate, with a demonstrated interest in city-building and/or social and environmental impact
Help build best-in-class real estate financial models
Conduct and present market research (land sales, condo pricing, rents, cap rates, vacancy, industry trends)
Support due diligence process on new acquisitions, including: gathering research to support key assumptions; populate financial models; coordinating physical due diligence; detailed financial diligence (lease reviews, operating costs etc.); ongoing maintenance of due diligence workplan; and any other duties as required
Support fundraising efforts through the preparation of marketing materials and provision of data for investor communications
Support debt financing process by populating detailed financial models for lenders: acquisition loans, strategic refinancing, construction loans, etc.
Collaborate with colleagues across #TeamTAS, help strengthen cross-functional effectiveness
Help maintain strong operational frameworks for the Investments group that empowers the team to work in an agile manner; participate in the ongoing evaluation and improvement of related systems, processes and tools
Deepen personal understanding of TAS’s strategy on an ongoing basis, embody and contribute to our culture
