Job Description My client, a well reputed international bank is looking for a subject matter expert in Data Privacy for its Singapore team.
Privacy and Data Policy Expert (6 Months Contract - Convertible)
Morgan Mckinley is working in partnership with a leading international bank to support their expanding Data Privacy team in Singapore. The incumbent will be working in a team of 15 data and privacy experts.
This is a newly created headcount and extendable/convertible.
Provide Operational Support
To liaise with the Business SMEs in understanding requirements for proposed solutions to close control gaps by running/facilitating workshops and feeding the requirements to the Data Protection Squads.
To act as an SME in Data Management - through working with the Global Process Owners to assess applicability of the policy & standards in their respective areas, help design controls and monitoring checks, draft treatment plans and implementation - this includes providing challenge to the business on the risk impact to the business in the event controls are not in place.
To help Businesses and Functions to prepare various templates for privacy and records management requirements.
Recommend process improvements to address control gaps and to enhance efficiency where possible.
Support & coordinate with stakeholders in defining automation or remediation actions / solutions.
Develop, track & analyze actionable metrics to continuously improve tools, procedures & provide visibility of operations to management.
Conduct assessments / surveys (e.g. on privacy impact / risk & controls) / data gathering and analysis on applications, products, processes, documentation and third parties to evaluate compliance with laws, regulations, and internal standards
Draft / update policies, guidelines, procedures, and documentation as required based on external or internal changes
Drive change and adoption including, but not limited to, creating communications (e.g. launch campaigns), training materials as well as delivery of training
Facilitate the choice and implementation of technology solutions, including, but not limited to requirements gathering, driving build vs buy decisions, system implementation, testing
Monitors any new, or changes to existing, technology applications, products, or operational processes and ensures that data and privacy risks are appropriately managed
Governance & Risk Management
Support liaison with Risk Assurance team on any Group Internal Audit and any regulatory inspections as required.
Assist in identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating data management, privacy and record management risks to the Group.
Training, Awareness & Change Adoption
Increase awareness of data & privacy risk and processes within the assigned Business / Functions by supporting training programs, maintaining and uplifting supporting procedures and materials
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience in Data privacy (minimum 5 years' experience for all relevant skillset required )
Understanding Privacy Laws
Subject matter expert in GDPR
