The Team: Sustainable1 is S&P Global's centralized source for sustainability intelligence. You will be part of a talented team of client-focused ESG specialists within the commercial organization. The position reports to the Head of Americas Institutional ESG Commercial Strategy. Your role is to help to grow S&P Global's ESG business by providing our clients and prospects with specialist ESG knowledge and a curated diagnosis of the ESG products and services that S&P Global provides that would best meet their needs. We aim to provide a seamless and elevated customer experience as we power the markets of the future with essential sustainability intelligence.
The Impact: The role requires excellent public speaking, verbal and written communication skills, as well as a good understanding of how investors (Investment Banks, Asset Managers, Asset Owners, Insurance, Commercial Banks and Development Banks) do, and could, integrate ESG and environmental data to create financial products and manage investment risks, which are essential to a more sustainable and efficient economy.

Specific focus of the role: As a member of the ESG Solutions Specialist team, you will have a key role in enabling S&P Global's ESG business growth across all divisions. This includes ESG market development activities, working with clients to identify which of S&P's best in class ESG solutions best meet their needs, collaborating with colleagues to build a strong pipeline of ESG business opportunities with existing and new clients, developing in-depth strategic account plans and orchestrating execution. We address all market segments within Financial Institutions in North America. The precise segment and region of focus will depend upon your experience, interest and business needs.
Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $100,100 to $207,900. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual sales commission plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.
Responsibilities: * Develop and execute ESG Strategic Account Plans to identify priority opportunities emerging from the evolving ESG landscape, client priorities and the portfolio of S&P Global ESG solutions * Coordinate with internal stakeholders to enable an effective and collaborative approach to implementation of plans, track progress, and make recommendations for adjustments as needed * Support qualification and diagnosis of client and prospect ESG needs, including the ability to curate and communicate technically and commercially on the appropriate solution suite * Synthesize and communicate clear messages on complex topics, including product methodologies and explain the relevance of solutions * Build and educate the market on ESG by representing S&P Global at external and hosted events, in client meetings and speaking at conferences * Drive integration of ESG internally, building capacity of staff across S&P Global divisions * Work closely with Product Development, Research and Marketing teams to ensure our products and marketing materials are designed with a client-first approach * As needed, plan and prepare presentations, write proposals and co-ordinate RFP responses.
What We're Looking For:
Basic Qualifications: * Understanding of the global ESG landscape and the sustainable finance marketplace, including key drivers and trends that are shaping the ESG marketplace * Knowledge of ESG data and its relevance to various use cases and stakeholders * Awareness of investment risks and opportunities associated with climate, water and biodiversity * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presenting to executives and speaking at conferences * Business acumen, good negotiation skills and persuasiveness. * Personable, enjoy networking and meeting new people * Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a positive "can do" attitude
Preferred Qualifications: * A sharp intellect, commercial acumen, creative approach to problem solving in a new and innovative industry and an entrepreneurial attitude * Understanding how financial markets operate, and also in particular how financial institutions are evaluating and incorporating ESG and climate issues in their decision-making and the organizations involved (e.g. TCFD, SASB, UNPRI) * Understanding of evolving ESG-related regulations * Understanding of some of the following: ESG risk and opportunity analysis by investors and banks, Portfolio climate risk assessment and TCFD reporting, use of environmental data in financial products, corporate sustainability strategy and performance, environmental profit & loss accounts. * Experience in sales or management consulting to financial institutions * Experience working within a SRI or a CSR team and / or working to a sales or relationship management targets * Ability to travel to offsite meetings if government travel advice permits
