As APAC Regional Lead, the role includes:
Represent Global Head of GFT as their proxy locally
Drive local prioritization of requirements into the global prioritization process
Provide local leadership to the APAC GFT teams, including identification of local talent needs and talent development
Actively participate and take a lead in APAC O&T leadership groups
Build and foster strong partnerships with the local global function heads
Act as local lead for regulatory interaction and escalation on behalf of GFT
The APAC Regional Lead will have ownership and full accountability for key technology related programs that span global functions and lines of business within APAC. Specifically, this includes:
Define and own integrated plans across the technology teams for key programs within APAC.
Ensure the right level of sponsorship and ongoing governance is in place to drive program execution.
Drive end to end prioritization, scoping, business case development, requirements management and project execution through to implementation of the key priorities that form the GFT strategy.
Manage all critical dependencies and execution risks for the programs
Drive a culture of accountability into the teams, including business partner functions within APAC.
Allow the application development managers to focus on execution of their discrete pieces of work, whilst ensuring that the end to end context is kept in mind, and that the appropriate end to end process and technical architectural principles are continually reinforced
Engage peers in both the business partner facing and horizontal roles to ensure that we maximize the investments in technology to drive us toward our target state within the APAC Region.
Partner with the Global Functions Technology Leads to lead communication for all large scale technology change within the APAC Region, including with C-suite sponsors in the Region.
Senior professional with at least 10 years' experience in financial services, preferably in a technology or software development organization.
A history of success in managing multi-million dollar projects that span multiple teams across many functions.
Demonstrated development, planning and execution of medium range and long term strategic plans.
Demonstrated capability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with business front office and global functions colleagues.
Demonstrated project management experience and detailed knowledge of technology products.
Broad and comprehensive knowledge of Regulatory environment across multiple geographies
Broad knowledge of financial markets, market data and risk sensitivities
A demonstrated ability to work across company boundaries, managing by fact and influence to hold a disparate group of participants and sponsors to account.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills - will have interaction with senior technology and business managers.
Candidate is expected to be a strong team player and work effectively in cross-organization situations.
A demonstrated commitment to developing talent, including a history actively driving to a more diverse talent mix across their teams
Conveys a sense of urgency, ownership, end-to-end issue resolution and persists/succeeds despite obstacles and opposition.
Well organized when working under pressure
Ability to work and thrive in a flexible matrix organization with focus on networking
Advanced people management and leadership skills - capable of developing and leading high performance teams through difficult and adverse conditions
Bachelor's Degree or similar professional experience (Operations Management, Management Sciences, Engineering Management, Technology and Management)
Advanced Master's degree preferable
