You will be part of the Legal & Compliance team providing legal and compliance advisory on data privacy and governance matters across the bank's business and support units.
Advise, review and approve new initiatives from Units to ensure that legal and regulatory requirements pertaining to data protection laws and their related considerations are embedded within initiatives, products and services as well as third party vendor arrangements.
Assist with the formulation and execution of the Group's Data Privacy program, taking into account regulatory requirements and developments, working closely with stakeholders to refine these policies, standards and controls across the network
Act as one of the liaison contacts to regulatory agencies on behalf of DBS.
Handling of contractual negotiations for legal and regulatory requirements related to data protection and data privacy.
Qualified lawyer with at least 6 years of PQE related to data privacy, data protection, information security and cybersecurity, TMT and/or general commercial practice groups in a high caliber law firm, in-house legal or privacy role of a financial institution or regulatory environment.
Possess a working knowledge of the Personal Data Protection Act in Singapore and its contextual application to financial products and services. Familiarity with their equivalent data protection/privacy regulations in other jurisdictions would be a further advantage.
Candidates with both legal qualifications and compliance/privacy experience will be preferred.
Incumbent must be willing to learn commercial and operational aspects of internal stakeholders and be able to tailor sound and practical advice.
Comfortable with change management and dealing with stakeholders across all levels of seniority. Good communication skills are essential.
A strong team player, with track record of working well in a collaborative environment as well as a demonstrated ability to work independently to deliver on tasks assigned.
