What You'll Be Doing: Our Production Service teams own some of the most critical responsibilities at BNY Mellon. The Production Services Endpoint Integrity Team is responsible for the health/triage/remediation of security and monitoring clients in the TSG distributed environment that keep BNY Mellon running. BNY Mellon is seeking a talented, passionate network security specialist who will be responsible for the health of the security and monitoring agents used throughout the enterprise. The chosen candidate will have the opportunity to continuously strengthen BNY Mellon's network security controls and collaborate with a broad range of colleagues on a variety of different vendor and internal applications. Becoming an SME in Illumio host-based firewall segmentation Responsible for working with application managers analyzing their network traffic for host-based firewall segmentation Triage/remediation of various security and monitoring agents via automation and manual intervention Responsible for daily incident management, responding to security incidents in a production environment Identify and Manage special projects requiring thoughtful analysis and strategic thinking Ability to work with little supervision Collaborate with internal security and operational teams Be an escalation point for security agent troubleshooting Designs, implements, integrates, and provides full support for complex software in a multi-tiered, multi-platform environment. Maintains and supports moderately complex infrastructure environments. Performs complex troubleshooting as a subject matter expert. Works to ensure appropriate monitoring and alerting setup. Leads root cause analysis and problem management for complex problems to address underlying technical issues. Collaborates with business and application development stakeholders. Lead production readiness reviews for new releases and validate the supportability of changes prior to introduction into production. Monitors infrastructure and respond to incidents, perform routine health checks and validations after changes or significant incidents, follows defined procedures for routine, low priority incident resolution. Escalate to second level infrastructure support for new or high priority incidents, May review and execute Change Management scripts. Leads major incident management calls for resolution of high priority incidents. May mentor or provide guidance for junior team members. Contributes to the achievement of area objectives MODIFIED BASED UPON LOCAL REGULATIONS/REQUIREMENTS Qualifications Who We're Looking For: Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred 8 - 10 years of related infrastructure experience required Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus At least 5 years' experience in a senior operational role in network security or administration Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills System forensics/investigation skills, including analyzing system artifacts (file system, memory, running processes, network connections, logs) Strong Verbal & written communication skills Solid foundation in data structures and algorithms, operating systems, networking concepts, and debugging skills The ability to cross-functionally lead and manage the response to high priority, high visibility operational security issues Able to work in a 24x7x365 operations environment, as much work will be done after business hours and on weekends Desired Qualifications Experience with Illumio or micro-segmentation Experience with firewall policy creation and troubleshooting Understand application tiering architecture (web, application, db), communication patterns and application connectivity Experience with packet capturing in Linux and Windows and use of Wireshark Experience with Splunk 4+ years' experience with administering Windows and Unix/Linux servers Previous experience in Production Sevices Management For over 230 years, the people of BNY Mellon have been at the forefront of finance, expanding the financial markets while supporting investors throughout the investment lifecycle.
