Our client, a high performing impact investment fund, is currently looking to hire a Compliance & Legal Officer to join their team on a part-time basis. The fund, which has an excellent track record, typically makes up to six new investments each year from seed to series B level. They have some big plans for the coming year - making it a very exciting time to join! As the Compliance & Legal Officer, you will immediately be afforded plenty of responsibility focusing on a wide range of generalist compliance tasks across the fund, both investment and internally focused. On a daily basis, you will be working very closely with both the impact investment team and the General Counsel, allowing additional legal responsibilities and commercial exposure. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced compliance and legal professional with a background within the investment or funds industry who is now looking to move into a part-time position and join a high-performing team. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process management including KYC and AML on potential investees
Assisting with portfolio transaction documents with support from external
FCA reporting including working closely with the finance team
Managing the fund's compliance monitoring programme
Providing compliance induction training
Assisting the Operations Manager with GDPR procedures and monitoring
Providing advice on any FCA regulatory requirements
Working with legal team on corporate and fund governance
Providing legal input on fund related activities
Investment Management, Financial Services or Private Equity legal background
Experience working within an in-house environment in either a compliance or legal position
Knowledge of the UK financial services regime, FCA rules and upcoming regulatory changes
Willingness to hold the responsibility of the SMF 16 / 17 for the fund
