EMEA/APAC Senior Director for Research & Risk Analytics - Credit Policy Group
Credit Policy strengthens Fitch's credit analysis, ratings and research by identifying credit risks that require additional focus and feeding that analysis back into the analytical teams in a challenger capacity, assessing Fitch's rating performance, and setting benchmarks for best practices in the application of ratings criteria and models. Credit Policy collaborates with the analytical, operations, legal and compliance groups to ensure that Fitch's ratings are timely, robust and consistent. CPG forms part of Fitch's second line of defence and is therefore a key component of Fitch's controls framework. The group reports directly to Fitch's Group Chief Risk Officer.
Fitch seeks a Senior Director in the Research and Risk Analytics function within Credit Policy. The role reports to the Head of Credit Research and Risk Analytics and is primarily responsible for leading research efforts connected to key global risk factors affecting all of Fitch's rated industries in EMEA and APAC. This individual is expected to act as lead author and spokesperson for reports that result from this work, with dual objectives of boosting in-house risk awareness and driving external visibility. Over time, this should include the development of recurring publications, with a body of work that draws on regular contact with ratings teams and GCOs in the regions to maintain a feedback loop for risk identification, analysis, and communication; the individual will build working familiarity with all asset classes rated by Fitch.

Design, lead and contribute to research on important credit themes, identified either independently or as part of an existing CPG program such as Topic Champions, Rating Positioning, or Enhancing Committee Robustness,
Communicate with the analytical groups, CPG colleagues, and external parties on the most relevant credit risks facing the portfolios,
Incorporate viewpoints and analysis from key market participants on credit matters affecting Fitch's portfolios,
Facilitate communication across analytical groups and regions to ensure a consistent approach to similar credit issues, including periodic provision of training on credit matters, and
Work closely with GCO and RCO colleagues to ensure timely awareness and debate of credit matters and risk issues that may impact multiple sectors.
Qualifications and experience:
Experience in a senior analytical credit role required, at the Senior Director / equivalent level or higher
Depth of knowledge in credit analysis, risk identification, and the credit markets,
Demonstrated writing and research capabilities,
Historic experience as a member of a team with demonstrated track record of multi-tasking and deadline management,
Evidence of ability to engage both internal and external stakeholders in a constructive manner is essential, and experience with public speaking is highly desirable.
This role will be based in one of Fitch's EMEA offices.
