We are now inviting qualified individuals to join the Direct Custody team in the role of: Administrator, Custody (Settlements). This role reports to the Manager of Custody Settlements, within the Direct Custody team of Markets and Securities Services in Sydney. This opportunity will appeal to those who are self-motivated and interested in the prospects of furthering their career in the securities / finance industry. Your main responsibilities will include
Complete the loading / amending / matching / settling / reporting of client trade instructions through the equity, debt and cash systems
Repair trade instructions that do not flow through our systems STP
Monitor transactions and facilitate the matching of instructions with counterparties for settlement
Track security trades to completion either through screen monitoring, phone contact with settlement counterparties or liaison with the related internal client group
Work with settlement counterparties to identify and resolve differences delaying the timely settlement of transactions
Note transactions with problems appropriately so clients are advised of the required corrective action that they need to take
Identify significant problems or concerns and escalate immediately to Manager
Completion of all compulsory Compliance and Regulatory training within required timeframe
Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need
Sound knowledge of the securities industry and custody operations
Extensive knowledge of the Australian debt and equity market
Ability to analyse system generated reports
Excel / Word skills
Good communication skills are necessary including the ability to work with customers, colleagues and settlement counterparties at various levels
High level of initiative and commitment is required with ability to work to deadlines
Ability to prioritise critical and less critical activities
Capacity to stay focused and pay close attention to detail
Maintain personal effectiveness even when under pressure
