We are looking for a full time in-house lawyer in the Distribution & Product Team within the Asset Management Legal Team.
Experience with one of the leading London law firms that serve the asset management / funds industry, or with experience of equivalent quality. UK and Luxembourg (and other EU) authorised funds and distribution work experience essential.
Must be a good team player, have a very high quality legal skills base and be sufficiently confident with internal and external clients.

Working within the Distribution & Product Team of the Asset Management and Wealth Management Legal Team in London and with Schroders' network globally to service the day-to-day legal, advisory and client/product documentation needs of Schroders.
In particular, the Distribution & Product Team specialises in servicing Schroders' institutional and retail business, product development, investment fund services and the distribution teams.
What you'll do
â€¢ Drafting and reviewing (as the lead internal lawyer) UK and Luxembourg fund related documentation including trust deeds, prospectuses, shareholder letters and Key Investor Information Documents (KIIDs), and drafting and advising on related correspondence with the FCA, the CSSF and external lawyers . â€¢ Advising on new fund launches and restructuring of existing funds (merging, closing, increasing investment powers etc.). â€¢ Drafting and negotiating distribution agreements for both UK and other EU-based intermediary clients, and supervising related work by the junior members of the team. â€¢ Drafting and negotiating service provider agreements (management, custody, transfer agency, administration, fund accounting, advisory) and ancillary fund board documentation. â€¢ Liaise with UK and International Client Directors/Client Executives and Product Managers to obtain requisite instructions and documentation. â€¢ Provide legal advice and guidance to Client Directors, Client Executives and other colleagues, including senior management. â€¢ Liaise with Operations (especially the UK and Luxembourg teams), Compliance, Transitions, Controls, all other relevant departments (UK and International) where necessary to complete documentation and projects. â€¢ Work on ad hoc projects which overlap within the Department. â€¢ Contribute to management information, administrative, filing and documentation systems within the Department.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
â€¢ Demonstrable post-qualification experience - at least 7 years PQE. â€¢ Excellent contract law knowledge, drafting skills and experience in contract negotiation. â€¢ Demonstrable knowledge of UCITS and AIF authorised fund products, and, unauthorised fund products. â€¢ Excellent written and verbal communication. â€¢ Excellent attention to detail and procedure. â€¢ In-depth knowledge/experience of the investment management, funds / asset management industry. â€¢ Good understanding of the legal and regulatory risks associated with the financial services industry and applicable FCA and CSSF regulation.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help
â€¢ Strong private practice experience. â€¢ Fluency in additional languages (e.g. French, German or an Asian language).
