Equities Athena Tech is a group of experienced Software Engineers with a mission to design, develop, and deliver software components for the Equity Derivatives business. We act as a transversal team with core development projects and collaboration with other Technology teams. We both create and help onboard applications and components into our in-house Athena platform.
We are currently engaged in a multi-year initiative to modernize how the Equities business prices and risk manages their extensive global portfolio of trades. As part of this endeavor you will participate in several projects across the full application stack, from back-end pricing to user interfaces for traders.
For this, we are looking for a developer who:
Takes ownership of the end to end product design and delivery;
Focuses on continuous improvement and fast iterative deliveries;
Is open to learn and apply new technologies;
Collaborates effectively with a wide range of partners including Front Office Trading, Quantitative Research, and other Equity Derivatives Technology teams to design and deliver the best solutions;
Adopts a strong, disciplined approach to code management, testing and deployment practices for high-quality delivery;
Essential Skills and Qualifications
Degree in a quantitative field, e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics;
Professional Python and/or strong OOP experience;
Some knowledge of HTML-5 and Web UIs (React, NodeJS) is a plus;
Must be passionate about software design and writing high quality code;
Outstanding problem solving skills;
Excellent software, algorithm design and development skills;
Excellent communication skills, able to adapt to both technology and business users alike at all levels;
Experience of working in a front office environment within financial services is highly desirable;
Experience in leveraging in-house financial platforms (such as JPMC's Athena) strongly preferred;
