The Impact: The analyst will function as a subject matter expert on refining economics, particularly in relationship to product price formation and crude value assessments. They will perform high level analytic work and modeling to form conclusions on refinery operations, price trends, and crude price differentials/valuation.

Functions as a subject matter expert, explaining the relationship between refinery economics, refinery operations and crude/product prices.
Performs high level analysis. May help in developing quantitative/analytic models.
Conducts research including identifying data and statistical analysis of results.
Prepares presentations for own use and for others and may engage directly with clients to present analysis as part of a team presentation.
Responds to client requests/inquiries for data and analysis.
What We're Looking For: Basic Qualifications:
BA/BS or MS in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, and/or related field of study. Chemical engineering is preferred. Equivalent experience within their discipline also considered.
1-5 years' experience in refining and commodity markets. Previous refinery operational experience is a plus.
Expert status in excel, strong knowledge of SQL and Python.
Knowledge of PIMS and/or Spiral software a major plus.
Persistent, with a natural curiosity about energy market fundamentals, refining and technical details.
Understanding of oil pricing dynamics, including product cracks & spreads and crude price differentials.
Displays well-rounded communication skills that implement good listening techniques, clear, concise writing style; and good verbal skills. The ability to communicate across a wide range of groups and personalities internally and externally. Public speaking experience is a plus.
Works well in a team environment, focusing on collaboration and adapting to the needs of a diverse team.
Adept at managing multiple tasks and adhering to regular deadlines. Able to adjust priorities throughout the day.
