The Payments Technology team at BNY Mellon is looking to hire a hands-on & talented Java Architect to define and integrate our applications software architecture. In this role, you will be responsible for upgrading or defining new architecture systems to support future and current state of the application. To ensure success as a Java Architect, you should have in-depth knowledge of software architecture, experience with network design, and Java programming skills. Ultimately, a top-class Java Architect can see the big picture needs of the application and design scalable architecture to handle the current and future needs. Responsibilities: Meeting with technology managers and the design team to discuss the goals and needs of the company. Examining and defining current architecture systems. Designing scalable architecture systems using even driven microservices architecture. Identifying the hardware and software infrastructure needs to accommodate the company's architectural goals. Troubleshooting design flaws and system bottlenecks. Performing validation tests to ensure the flexibility and scalability of the environment. Assisting the software design team with application integration. Conducting system performance tests. Working on various proof of concept and completing summary reports. Responsible for the delivery of high quality architectural solutions, while ensuring compliance with company policies. Strategizes and contributes to enterprise level technological initiatives on architectures, patterns and standards. In addition to the individual contributor primary responsibilities shown below, may also have managerial responsivities, such as: recruits, directs, motivates and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team. Defines and implements architecture and design in accordance with architecture principles. Adheres to established architecture methodologies and standards and ensures compliance with company policy. Identifies organization-wide initiatives and makes recommendations for the use of technology. Works closely with senior management to educate and to articulate resource requirements necessary to promote architecture goals. Oversees architecture activities of the organization to assure the strategic goals of the organization are met. Works toward architecture and design solutions. Performs enterprise planning and designing solutions for emerging business and complex technology environments. Identifies and recommends ways to drive more value out of the company's technology assets. Designs stable and flexible high performance solutions, maximizing reuse and avoiding redundancy. Works with other stakeholders in optimizing architecture solutions. Contributes to the achievement of multiple teams' objectives Qualifications Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science. 10 plus years of work experience. Advanced knowledge of software architecture. Proficiency with Java, Spring, Spring boot, Spring cloud, Kafka, IBM MQ, Rabbit MQ, Oracle, Mongo DB, Angular, REST API's, GIT Lab Experience with the design and implementation of software networks. Experience with design and implementation of high throughput and low latency applications. Experience with software design, web programming, performance testing and tuning. Time management skills to meet the expectation of dynamic environment. Ability to solve complex software system issues. Excellent communication skills. Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
