ESG Solutions is one of the core pillars of the Strategic Solutions Group (SSG), part of HSBC's Capital Markets team in Global Banking and Markets. SSG is responsible for developing analytics, insightful content and structuring solutions for clients across sectors, focusing on three pillars:
Corporate Finance Solutions
This role is for a Vice President to focus on the ESG Solutions pillar and will report to the Americas head of SSG, providing ESG expertise, analytics and structuring ESG align solutions across HSBC's client base (corporates, financial institutions, financial sponsors and public sector) and product offering.
The candidate will provide strategic advice on sustainable finance and the ESG ecosystem. The candidate will also contribute to new product development and advisory solutions. The role holder is expected to present robust analysis and stay informed of emerging and evolving client and industry themes related to sustainability.
SSG is a global team and the role requires a collaborative mind-set to partner regionally and globally with Banking and Product colleagues. The role involves pitching clients, product development and the execution of transactions, as well as providing thought leadership to the business within HSBC and representing the bank on a variety of external industry bodies.
Key Responsibilities, include, but are not limited to:
Lead projects advising clients on impact of sustainability across business, applicability of sustainable finance solutions and development of sustainability related investor disclosure
Develop new customer propositions for sustainable finance across Capital Markets and Advisory
Support the origination, structuring and execution of sustainable finance bonds and loans, and other sustainable finance solutions
Actively contribute to expanding sustainable finance solutions across equities, high-yield and derivatives
Synthesize market observations and developments to identify relevant themes for clients, staying abreast of relevant emerging themes in and regulation related to sustainability and the impact on corporate strategy, sustainable finance and ratings
Maintain relationships with ESG ratings providers, industry groups, credit agencies and other relevant organizations
Prepare client marketing materials including, presentations and client briefing notes
Create, maintain, industrialize, and standardize models to address frequent analysis
Mentor junior resources on ESG trends, meeting materials and career development
Adhere to global standards for behavior, communication, coordination, performance
Management of Risk

Each employee must ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues.

Observation of Internal Controls
Each employee must maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators. Any failures to comply with the above should be reflected in year-end performance assessments.
