Our wealth team establishes relationships with wealth management firms and platforms to distribute BlackRock's alpha-seeking and iShares investment capabilities and drives the adoption of BlackRock's portfolio construction by financial advisers.
This is a Relationship Manager role covering wealth clients for BlackRock Australia in Sydney/ Melbourne. The role partners with the State Manager to effectively execute a business plan to drive BlackRock products and solutions to Financial Advisers within a specific channel and defined territory. The Relationship Manager will maintain a high level of client connectivity and represent the most comprehensive investment offering in the industry.
Reporting to the State Manager, the Relationship Manager will develop and cultivate relationships with existing clients and prospects in relevant region. He/she will market a full range of investment options including traditional long-only strategies, alternatives, ETFs, and multi-asset solutions. The role will be fully accountable for the financial results of an assigned book of business. Additionally, the individual will deliver best in class thought leadership, and investment solutions to prospects and clients to maintain and grow our share of wallet.
Work with the State Manager to develop and execute a detailed sales strategy, with a focus on promoting the benefits and extending the usage of BlackRock solutions.
Proactively position and differentiate BlackRock and our investment products against competitor firms and products to Financial Advisers.
Build an efficient and thoughtful strategy to maximize engagement and influence.
Exhibit in-depth knowledge of all investment products, including the demonstration of a high level of comfort in communicating this information to Advisers in the context of portfolio construction
Expand existing client base by uncovering investment needs and presenting solutions.
Identify and pursue new opportunities by client profiling, lead identification, and follow-up activity.
Exhibit high-level market knowledge and ability to converse with financial advisers on investment solutions and current economic and market conditions
Embrace the firm's commitment to the client experience and exceed client contact expectations
Partner with colleagues across the organization to improve the BlackRock/Client relationship.
Follow a team-based approach and leverage the Firm's resources at appropriate times in the sales cycle, in order to broaden and deepen the usage of BlackRock and iShares solutions.
Diligent use of client relationship management tools to record client activity/interaction.
Administrative tasks: prepare client materials and reports for management, maintain a database of client holdings and trades, management of global product list etc.
Responsible to ensure that all regulatory and legal requirements and standards are met.
Qualifications / Experience Required:
5+ years of experience in finance required
Proven track record in Adviser Sales preferable
Knowledge of investment trends and adviser practices
Willingness to travel regionally as required
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Proven MS Office skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience with web-based technology
BA/BS degree in related field
Strong time management, interpersonal skills and presentation skills
Strong team player, who is able to collaborate credibly internally in order to leverage the Firm's resources locally as well as globally
