thinkFolio is a cross-asset-class order management (OMS) and portfolio modelling system (PMS) that brings transparency to the detailed cash flows comprising each investment. Customers can implement thinkFolio as a single, integrated investment management platform that supports their entire front office. Duties and Responsibilities - "Your Role"
IHS Markit thinkFolio is looking for a Technical Trainer to develop, deliver and evaluate training courses for internal and external customers. The successful applicant will play an instrumental role in the future growth of the thinkFolio learning program and the wider IHS Markit's Solutions Training Services.
Daily, the successful applicant will collaborate with other thinkFolio and Solutions Training teams to continuously enhance the training program and to maintain up-to-date awareness and understanding of both the product and the organisational learning roadmap.
Where virtual delivery of thinkFolio training is not the customers preferred option, occasional travel to other UK and EMEA locations for traditional classroom delivery will be required.
Duties & accountabilities:
Collaborate with Product Development, Sales and Professional Services teams to continuously enhance the training strategy for the thinkFolio platform
Plan, develop, organise, create, and maintain learning content to include product features and functionality, use-case based exercises and technical walkthrough guides targeted at internal and external learners
Deliver training to meet the required learning outcomes using a blended learning approach as appropriate taking account of targeted audience and the most convenient method for delivery
Continuously re-evaluate content and learning outcomes across all courses to ensure they are fit for purpose
Configure, upgrade, and maintain associated training resources which is inclusive of hosted AWS environments and marketing collateral
Work with the Client Management team to understand customer training needs and raise awareness of available learning content
Work with Solutions Training Services to maintain a consistent approach of delivery to all learners and internal processes
Job Requirements - "About You"
At least 2 years proven experience working in a technical position, creating content, and delivering technical training
Understanding of training assessment and verification management processes
Broad knowledge of buy side firms and their processes (portfolio management, trading, compliance, operations)
Strong Financial asset class knowledge in Equities, Fixed Income, Loans, FX, and Derivatives
BS or MA degree in computer science, business analytics, data science or similar
Exposure to relational databases and SQL
Visual design skills and ability to storyboard
Experience of working in web-based collaborative authoring environments such as Confluence, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft SharePoint
Knowledge of course development software and Learning Management Systems, such as Adobe, Captivate or Articulate 360
Passion for providing the best possible learning experience to a range of audiences
Strong analytical skills - able to differentiate between 'need-to-know' and 'nice-to-know' content
Self-motivator who can work on their own initiative
Good time management and organisational skills
Effective written, pictorial, and verbal communication skills are essential for success in this role
Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
