DBS PayLah! tech team intend to build loosely coupled but tightly aligned components that are built expecting to be reused while anticipating change. The common set of parameters and tools for software development provides a consistent approach to security, maintainability and reliability. In addition, architectural agility has a causal relationship with potential strategic and operational benefits. As engineering teams design and build new capabilities & features on PayLah!, we begin with an end-state vision of how the new capabilities & features will operate within this architecture and then, engineer them accordingly. The senior tech lead is responsible for enabling the above ambition and driving the design and development of integrated solutions on DBS Lifestyle apps that meet current and future business strategy. Key Accountabilities
Work with business stakeholders in defining the lifestyle app strategy and roadmap. Bring product thinking into all business requirements across countries. Interface with business, UX and technology teams to drive towards common requirements
Manage and lead Agile / Scrum development teams in design and development activities and guide them on technical direction.
Deliver seamless consistent digital customer journeys on DBS Lifestyle apps across all domains across countries
Ensure the quality delivery of software application enhancements and projects related to DBS Lifestyle apps
Provide leadership in re-defining our development team processes, as well as recommending technologies fit for modern, scalable architectures to deliver business outcomes and customer value
Play a key role in defining the architecture and engineering guidelines for the development team, and driving engineering practices based on these guidelines
Drive adoption of the common framework and champion the cause of reuse across various technology teams
Contribute materially to a well-informed cloud strategy and manage our Cloud Adoption Model
Explore new technologies and drive innovation through experimentation
Build competency center and subject matter expertise that business and tech stakeholders can depend on
Instrument the pipelines to ensure process is followed and present metrics to senior management stakeholders
Supporting established organizational objectives by developing goals and strategies
Finding and implementing ways to improve cost-efficiency
At least a Degree in Computing / Computer Science / Engineering from a reputed University
Minimum 10 years experience in IT and software development on open source software stack, with a good track record in a leadership role with a culture of collaboration and teamwork
Technical Lead experience in all aspects of technology like business applications, middle-ware, database technology, best practices, quality improvements and productivity improvements
Working knowledge of the general Mobile App development landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.
Ability to build applications using distributed microservice architecture, and capacity to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks
Understand API architectures; hands on experience with designing and deploying APIs through API gateways and portals, including API documentation using standards such as OpenAPI/Swagger
Familiarity with modern Public Cloud services on AWS and Azure; relevant certifications preferred
Working knowledge on Test Driven Development and UI test automation
Hands on working knowledge on DevOps tools for source control and code branch strategy (Git, Bitbucket), Continuous Integration (Jenkins, Maven), Continuous Delivery (CA Release Automation)
SRE experience in production support and improvement, incident management, and automation is highly preferred
Experience guiding and executing cross-functional initiatives to completion, while remaining hands-on
Strong Problem-Solving skills and ability to solve unstructured problem and challenge status quo
Must be comfortable working in an extremely fast paced environment, with an ability to priorities accordingly to meet deadlines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
