We Offer Your responsibilities include: Governance:
Coordinate &/or participate the Hong Kong Branch Governance Committee and Branch Risk & Control meetings for senior management. Coordinate location risk reporting, analysis (based on risk map, audit and regulatory reviews, incidents, key risk indicators, scorecard and control testing results) for the Hong Kong Branch
Proactively identify, assess and handle key operational and business-related risks and control related issues and mitigations across the Private Banking (PB) Hong Kong. Prioritize regular management engagement meetings to share key observations, risk trends and analysis, recommendations and track progress
Support the Risk & Control Self-Assessment, activities and actions. Support the APAC FLDS & Competence Centre to drive consistent interpretation and implementation of the global risk policy, risk appetite, management framework and raise risk issues to senior management.
Work with regional and global risk partners to build risk systems, improve the efficiency of risk reporting and control management, and implement risk controls in compliance with the internal policies/procedures and regulatory requirements in PB Hong Kong. Assurance
Provide administrative support to senior management in performing supervisory controls and skip level reviews, and facilitate to reach recommendations and solutions
Conduct thematic reviews and assurance control testings, produce quality assessment to identify control weaknesses and raising of issues to ensure compliance of business and regulatory requirements
Provide internal/external audits/review co-ordination support, facilitate to drive recommendations and solutions, track and monitor closure of audits/reviews and MICOS items
Ensure standards and procedures are applied appropriately
Conduct impact analysis for client complaints, recommend improvements and track completion of actions Advisory
Provide risk and controls first line of defense support by providing expertise, advice and training to key partners from front to back within PB Hong Kong
Establish business risk management procedures, standards, adequate and effective control measures working with regional and global risk partners
Participate in projects and partner with location and regional partner to ensure implementation of all business risk related tasks/projects/new business and initiatives Bank Culture Program
Support the North Asia PB COO and management on the Bank Culture Program related communication and education including newsletters, alerts, regular town halls and training), nurture risk awareness as well as the Bank's cultural values (IMPACT)
Partner with risk champions and partners to identify risk themes, share best-practices, knowledge, use experience and drive practical initiatives/actions to improve the risk culture/ performance Your future colleagues
Under the leadership of the COO office, this role will lead the First Line of Defense Support (FLDS) to:
help the first line of defense (1LoD) in embedding and maintaining a robust culture which is the basis for a balanced and compliant business; and
maintain an effective risk governance and control framework in full compliance with the bank policies and standards, and by following the "FLDS Mandate Guidelines". To refer and work closely with APAC FLDS and location COO office for risk related areas and topics identified in the course of business, so that from LCOO's perspective both risk and business legs are well covered by Location Business Management on business part and FLDS on risk and governance front.
To excel in this role, you should possess:
Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience in the private banking, wealth management or related industry
Outstanding knowledge of APAC/HK private banking risks environment controls or internal audit and knowledge of regulations would be an advantage and preferred
Ability to liaise and communicate effectively with partners at all levels including Front Office management, Location Management, Compliance etc.
Outstanding interpersonal, project and management skills needed to handle the coordination of the exceptions and multiple priorities
Independent judgment with strong analytical and risk assessment skills. A wide degree of sense of ownership, creativity and can-do latitude. Able to handle complexity and time constraints as well as work under pressure
Proficient in written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills to optimally communicate through presentation and across a range of individual and groups with all levels, including attitude to build and maintain positive working relationships with all management and personnel
Excels in teamwork and collaboration
Result oriented, dedicated, hardworking who can work on own initiative and can deliver on time under pressure with a high level of integrity and flexibility, sense of urgency, attention to detail and quality standards
