The Immigration Risk Partner is responsible for delivering best-in-class immigration services for the region while ensuring compliance and mitigating overall risk. Reporting to the Global Immigration Manager, the candidate will provide support to all levels of the organization on all immigration matters within the APAC region, and serve as the primary escalation point between the business, HR Business Partners and external immigration counsel. This role will leverage immigration subject matter expertise and operational management experience to deliver a superior employee experience.
Coordinate management of immigration matters within the APAC region including governance of case assessment processes for new hires /internal mobility (~200/annually) and oversight of renewals and extensions of employer-sponsored visas with the APAC] region (500+ visa population APAC)]
Advise business on complex immigration matters/provide high-touch support
Responsible for oversight and management of vendor in region to ensure compliance with service levels across multiple countries.
Manage regional operations to ensure seamless initiation, execution and responsiveness of all immigration matters for the region, including visa extension/permanent residency requests and inquiry management.
Review recommend and lead execution on process improvements.
Lead communication strategy for the region, which includes the delivery of population-wide messaging, development of educational materials, and hosting training and seminars.
Collaborate with internal HR teams including Talent Mobility, Talent Acquisition and Platform & Infrastructure on various initiatives.
Manage all immigration aspects relating to large-scale projects within the region (Joint Ventures, Acquisitions).
Review and communicate any updates on legal changes and industry trends
Monitor local/operational compliance with right to work verification requirements
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
5+ years of experience working in an in-house global immigration program for a multinational company.
Working knowledge of varied global visa types, processes and the experience reviewing case facts to interpret technical advice and reach commercial decisions. (APAC- Familiarity and knowledge of immigration scheme in Singapore and Hong Kong are a must)
Strong communication and influencing skills (verbal and written).
Project management experience across multiple disciplines and stakeholders - driving projects from conception to implementation.
Experience analyzing situations and spotting potential issues.
Experience working with confidential data and handling sensitive matters.
Consulting experience preferred.
