Job Purpose

You will be part of a team to drive and implement the Compliance Risk Management Framework and compliance requirements for all GE entities within the Group, by effectively supporting the Business Units in their duty to comply with relevant laws and regulations.

The Job

  • Provide regulatory advice to Business Units, with a focus on data privacy;
  • Act as the Data Protection Officer to oversee the data protection responsibilities within the GE Group and ensure compliance with the PDPA;
  • Serve as the primary contact with the PDPC on data protection matters;
  • Develop, publish and maintain data governance artefacts (policies, guidelines, standards, etc.) online to raise user awareness and facilitate self-service;
  • Perform investigation and root cause analysis on data incidents to ensure adequate action plans are taken to remediate the identified non-compliance issues within the agreed timeline ;
  • Conduct briefings and trainings to raise compliance risk awareness across the Group;
  • Perform oversight to support subsidiaries for alignment of governance controls and standards;
  • Active engagement with the respective Business Units and local entities counterparts across GE Group of entities to monitor any significant regulatory development in the respective countries;
  • Participate in new initiatives/process reviews and provide recommendation to embed controls into business processes;
  • Perform updates and annual review of the Compliance Requirement Self Assessments; and
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and appropriate steps to mitigate the risks; and evaluate effectiveness of risk controls;
  • Highlight any potential concerns/risks and proactively shares best risk management practices;
  • Take accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks;
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and appropriate steps to mitigate the risks;
  • Highlight any potential concerns/risks and proactively shares best risk management practices; and
  • Any other ad-hoc tasks/projects as assigned.
