One of the world's largest hedge funds, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, hands-on engineer to join the technology team in their Boston office. With plenty of scope to grow and have an impact on the business, you will be responsible for building the tools, frameworks, libraries and applications which enable the smooth operation of a critical, leading-edge quant research and trading platform.

The majority of their systems run on Linux and most code is written in Python, with the full scientific stack, e.g. numpy, scipy, pandas, scikit-learn are a few of the libraries used exclusively.

The Role

Working exceptionally closely with the research and portfolio management teams, you can expect a range of work, from implementing signals, to analysing and onboarding new datasets, cluster-computing solutions and numerical algorithms, through to developing portfolio optimization toolkits.

Requirements
  • 8+ years' engineering experience
  • Proven track record in programming, Python is ideal
  • Strong degree in Computer Science / Mathematics / Engineering / Physics
  • Familiarity with database technologies, e.g. SQL Server, Postgres, MongoDB
  • Mentoring or management experience
  • Good proficiency with Linux and Git
  • Bonus points for open source data analysis packages (Spark, Pandas, Numpy, Scipy) and/or financial markets experience
  • Candidates must be based in the USA and have a valid working visa (H1B/Green Card)
