The Role: Performance Tester III
Grade Level: 10 (internal purpose)
The Location: Princeton, NJ or New York, Centennial, CO or Virtual
The Team:
The Quality Engineering team works in partnership with other Technology Functions and the Business to ensure quality delivery of our products. The team works in an Agile environment and is located globally. The team is independent in driving all decisions and is responsible for continuously improving customer experience, revenue growth and operations enablement through quick turn-around of development of our products with high quality.
Responsibilities: - Ensure optimally performing production applications by establishing application and transaction SLAs for performance, implementing proactive application monitoring, alarming and reporting, and ensuring adherence to and measurement against defined SLAs
- Analyzes, designs and develops performance specifications and scripts based on workflows.
- Demonstrate outstanding flexibility and leadership with communication of performance test result interpretation and explanation to both IT and Business Users.
- Resilience & Reliability Engineering Experience - High Availability Design, Resilient Architecture, Scalability & Capacity Analysis, SLA/SLO analysis
- Understand systems environments like shared resources, components and services, CPU, memory, storage, network, etc.
- Understand user behaviors and analytics models and experience in using Kibana and Google analytics
What We're Looking For: - Experience testing with containers, cloud, virtualization, and configuration management.
5 to 8 years in the following areas... - Experience testing with containers, cloud, virtualization, and configuration management.
- Experience in APM toolsets (DynaTrace, AppDynamics, Datadog, Splunk)
- Experience in Databases / SQLs (e.g. SQl Server, Cassandra, Elastic Search, Postgres, MongoDB)
- Experience in message brokers (e.g. Kafka)
- Experience in defining Non-Functional Requirements (NFR) & strategy to achieve NFR
- Experience in testing and optimizing high volume web and batch-based transactional enterprise applications.
- Understanding of and experience with various types of performance testing (Load, Stress, Soak etc.).
- SME in LoadRunner, StromRunner, and JMeter and exposure to Resiliency validation tools like Chaos Monkey, Gremlin, Resiliency Studio etc
- Ability to interpret and draw system diagrams.
- Ability to create application performance test plan based on project requirements.
- Ability to interpret results of performance tests and identify improvements.
- Good knowledge in Cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure), Containers (Docker) Web/UI Javascript frameworks (e.g. AngularJS, NodeJS, ReactJS)
