Market Data is a critical component of the business, it is used globally and sourced both internally and externally from the firm. The team is responsible for all aspects of market data ranging from sourcing, licensing, distribution and commercial management.

The Software Engineering group in Market Data is seeking a "hands on" developer to build and evolve its real-time streaming data delivery platform and related products. You will work on high-availability(live/live), high throughput and low latency solutions. You'll join an inspiring and curious team of engineers dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. You'll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of what's being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development is key. And best of all, you'll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the world.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
  • Solve complex problems at scale, developing high performance and quality applications with a global user base
  • Work very closely with the user base to understand and deliver on their market data requirements
  • Work with open-source, vendor and internally built software where appropriate
  • Engage and manage external vendor relationships where necessary
  • Collaborate and deliver with the global team across the full lifecycle including requirements, architecture, implementation, testing, and release management
  • Support our business users in their interactions with the data platform and escalate accordingly
  • Continually evaluate the operation of the environment to assist in optimizing and automating through the use of technology
  • Drive strategic initiatives and delivery of key programs of work across Market Data and the broader division

    SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • 5+ years hands-on software development experience in Java/C++
  • Experience of test-driven development, hands on experience with testing frameworks such as Junit
  • Thorough knowledge and experience in all phases of SDLC
  • Experience with debugging, troubleshooting, code optimization and issue resolution
  • Proficient in a Unix/Linux environment
  • Experience working with business or clients to transform requirements into software solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem solving mind-set
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a global team

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Market Data APIs (e.g. Refinitiv RFA/UPA/Elektron APIs) or messaging APIs/platforms
  • Experience building RESTful services
  • Knowledge of market data or financial services is a plus
