As the premier supplier to our client, one of the most established financial institutions worldwide, Swisslinx are looking for a motivated DevOps Engineer with experience operating Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS) and/or Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO) environments to provide L2 support of our internal chat platform in Zurich.

This is a rolling 12 months contract starting ASAP, with a strong chance of extension (up to two years) or even internalization.

In this role you will join a newly created Instant Messaging Team and global team and will be responsible for deploying and supporting a brand-new internal chat platform. This candidate will be working in a DevOps capacity - straddling both Engineering and Operations of the system.

The wider unified collaboration team supports functionality and covers IM, Voice, Video, Mail and Retention. UC IM, voice and video solely has ~45 resources.

The role will entail interaction with various teams, mainly networks, security and vendor for various feature and functionality improvements and application upgrades / updates.
Possible contact and interactions with End Users.

Responsibilities will principally be the following:

  • Operate Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS) and/or Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO) environments
  • Deploy application feature & functionality enhancements and maintain the environment by upgrades, updates
  • Manage and prioritize all user incident tickets. Troubleshoot to best of knowledge and liaise with vendor if required.
  • Maintain pro-active approach to resolve end user issues by way of daily monitoring.
  • Provide all internal clients with a dedicated, positive and efficient service at all times

    As the ideal candidate for this position, you will possess the following skills:

  • Understanding of Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS) (min 2 years' experience)
  • Understanding of Azure Red Hat OpenShift environment (min 2 years' experience)
  • Understanding of Dockers (min 2 years' experience)
  • Technical skills ideally in a Level 2 Operations role (manage / resolve / escalate support tickets, daily monitoring of the environment, perform update/upgrades of the environment as required, assist with engineering and testing of such updates / upgrades)
  • Fluency in English

    Please note due to COVID interviews would be conducted remotely, however the role is based 100% in Switzerland. The team is currently split between WFH and office right now. Post COVID occasional home office will be permitted.
