Real Assets Product Strategy Overview: The Real Assets Research Team supports the Real Assets business by developing and articulating BlackRock's views and forecasts for Infrastructure and Real Estate markets globally and for delivering these to BlackRock's clients, on behalf of a range of open ended, closed ended and listed Real Assets investment strategies.
The Real Assets Product Strategy Team supports the Real Assets business by managing the product development lifecycle of new fund strategies and in particular leads the product strategy, development, marketing, capital raising and ongoing investor relations processes in order to achieve AUM growth in the region.
Job Purpose/Background: BlackRock's Real Assets Research and Product Strategy team is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious individual interested in working in a fast-paced, international environment as a member of a global team in the alternative investment industry. The candidate assumes a multi-faceted role which requires a passion for Real Assets product development, marketing, capital raising, investments and research, an entrepreneurial spirit, strong analytical and conceptual skills, flexibility, as well as dedicated client service orientation.
The Real Assets Research and Product Strategy team has two functions:
Research - providing macro-economic Real Assets market research, analysis, forecasts and investment strategy
Product Strategy - business growth for APAC Real Assets strategies, focused on product development, marketing, fundraising, investor relations and client service
The APAC Research and Product Strategy team has two directors located in Hong Kong, one focused on research and one on product strategy. The candidate will be responsible for supporting both roles with the following responsibilities:
Create and maintain the marketing materials for APAC Real Assets investment products
Manage compliance submissions for marketing materials
Create and maintain prospective investor trackers
Research the competitor landscape and keep a record of competing funds including which investors are in such funds
Support the project management of fund development and launch
Contribute to prospective client Requests for Proposal, due diligence responses and ongoing request
Join local client meetings in Hong Kong to gain exposure to clients and grow into the future role
Provide support to ongoing investor relations and client servicing requirements during the fund life
Coordinate annual marketing and client events to assist in building the profile of BlackRock Real Assets
Analyze real estate market trends by tracking and interpreting data on economics, demographics, real estate space markets and capital markets
Contribute to and develop presentations on market trends and strategies
Contribute to and write topical papers and articles
Maintain and update the database of real estate research subscriptions, data and marketing content
Support real estate investment underwriting by providing market analysis
Bachelor's degree required [and Graduate degree preferred with degree in Economics, Finance, Real Estate or related field]
Strong analytical, writing and communications skills
Strong presentation and PowerPoint skills and ability to deliver pertinent facts in a concise way
Strong quantitative computer skills including spreadsheets and databases
Solid interpersonal skills and ability to quickly form meaningful working partnerships
Understanding of real estate market fundamentals and economic analysis
Receptivity to firm culture and ability to promote same.
Strong organizational and project management skills, including ability to function effectively within an unstructured, fast-paced environment
