Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Programme Manager with a proven track record of delivering major business and IT change.
You will need to have a solid programme management background, be skilled at leading teams and have experience of working with senior finance and actuarial stakeholders to deliver transformational change through complex programmes of work.

The Programme Manager role will deliver significant Capital and Asset & Liability Management changes being made by the actuarial teams in the UK Finance function and manage all aspects of the day to day administration and control of allocated programme activities.

More specifically, the Programme Manager:

• Independently evaluates and constructs robust business cases for potential initiatives
• Creates matrix management structures of internal and external project teams to drive delivery of agreed business outcomes through the control of allocated programme activities
• Is accountable for the effective delivery of complex and high-profile programmes including the planning and structuring of multiple project streams
• Is directly responsible for leading all types of programmes on behalf of the UK Executive including strategic, transformational and major regulatory changes.
• Is visible, engages strongly and influences senior stakeholders.
• Prepares and delivers presentations to Executive sponsors and business leaders
   

Required Skills/Knowledge

• Significant programme management experience in a wide range of business areas and demonstrated success of delivering complex project assignments
• At least 5 years' experience in delivering business change with and into LifeCo actuarial teams. Exposure to a range of actuarial systems - Prophet (FIS) / WTW); & data warehouse / platform solutions.
• At least a basic understanding of a range of actuarial processes (as well as valuation) – Solvency II reporting (including Internal Model / Partial Internal Model and ORSA; capital modelling; Asset & Liability Management; & liquidity management).
• Expected to work independently, submitting high quality outputs that should not require constant review
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, working closely with the UK Executive and senior management, as well as external parties
• No direct line people management so heavily relies on influencing skills and key stakeholder management
• Proven track record of programme delivery in a Life & Pensions environment
• Strong programme budgetary control and financial management
• Experience of managing multiple parties including third party suppliers
• Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
• High degree of knowledge and experience in stakeholder relationship management at a senior level
• Excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage change with a proactive and enthusiastic approach
• Good knowledge of LifeCo key business drivers, products and services
