The Role Responsibilities Strategy and Business Management - As part of the Digital Foundation Technology (DFT) Management Team, support the team in developing, driving and coordinating a consolidated strategy and actively support strategy implementation.
- Assist in the delivery of the management agenda - taking the initiative to identify and drive initiatives designed to improve financial management, operational efficiency, risk and people management.
- Closely monitor the development, implementation and performance of agreed objectives for the team, including preparation and monitoring of scorecards.
- Support the team in driving agile transformation programme for all DFT teams, working closely with the FSTS Agile team.
- Extensively collaborate on a daily basis, with multiple teams and internal stakeholders at various levels both within/ outside of the DFT organisation, across locations, to deliver on outcomes.
- Provide support to the Global Head DFT on various requirements, including presentations and other adhoc data/ information requests.
Finance and Performance Management - Resource planning and implementation of hiring governance.
- Define and drive execution of the DFT workforce and location strategy.
- Proactively engage with FSTS Business Management team and other support/ control functions to ensure team objectives are met.
- Work with T&I Finance business partner in budgeting & forecasting cycles.
- Cost centre and financial management including cost approvals.
- For the DFT organisation (400+ staff across locations), drive compliance on essentials.
- Preparation of senior management presentations, and monthly management reports and updates.
People & Talent - Support the MT in ideation and implementation of people initiatives, including driving rewards and recognition programme across geographies within DFT and across FSTS, with an aim to recognise the resources for their exemplary work.
- Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
- Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people.
- Employ, engage and retain high quality people.
- Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.
Communications & Engagement - Drive ideation to develop a curriculum and implement communication strategies, to support the Digital Foundation Technology priorities and initiatives.
- Deliver communications through engaging content tailored to different internal audiences in an effective way that makes it relevant and of value to the specific target groups - curate team content for various internal communications and platforms, including internal weekly bulletins, internal newsletter, emails, Bridge etc to promote and update the different internal stakeholders.
- Support the wider FSTS communications agenda through contributions in the FSTS Weekly and Fortnightly newsletters as well as T&I newsletter, with an aim to bring into focus and celebrate DFT achievements and initiatives.
- Create a framework of clear and effective employee communications and engagement for the Digital Foundation Tribe, to create a sense of shared purpose that is relevant to all team members, who are based out of multiple locations and come from diverse backgrounds.
- Drive cross-border DFT Brown Bag sessions to encourage learning and support knowledge sharing culture in the team.
- Plan and organize team events (department gathering, team building, townhalls, skip level meetings etc).
- Drive rigor and agenda for regular weekly DFT MT meetings, quarterly offsites and set in place mechanism to track all decisions and action items to closure.
Risk & Governance - Drive continuous focus on active risk management practices and governance for the DFT team, to support identification, assessment, monitoring, control and mitigation of risks across the portfolio.
- Drive rigor of the biweekly Risk & Audit DFT Workgroup to ensure regular review of open risks/ issues and progress on mitigation/ remediation actions, to ensure no extensions without management sign-off.
- Work closely with the FSTS Risk & Governance team and participate in the monthly forum, to collaborate and deliver on team outcomes.
- Work closely with the T&I Risk & Governance team and wider teams on audit requirements and ensure no overdue audit issues or adverse findings.

- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Other Responsibilities - Undertake other responsibilities or initiatives as assigned on an ongoing basis.
Our Ideal Candidate - 10+ years' experience including business management, risks and governance and communications, with exposure to working with senior stakeholders.
- Strong financial management including managing project financials, planning and analytical skills including making recommendations; hands on experience in driving performance management/ measurement, process management and resource planning.
- Experience in banking and technology is a plus.
- High proficiency in MS Office suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word and SharePoint.
- Hands on experience with project management and collaborative tools such JIRA, Confluence etc is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills (written, spoken and presentation); Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with all levels of staff across diverse cultures and backgrounds.
