Application Development Consultant (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Quincy, Massachusetts ): will be a detail-oriented, hands-on, senior technical lead for State Street's core systems team. Applications that the candidate will be asked to work on are critical, strategic and open-systems-based components of State Street's core Fund Administration platform (Fund Accounting, Pricing and Valuation). The qualified candidate will lead the design and development of complex and highly visible applications in the challenging Financial Services area. Specific duties include: Designing, developing, and implementing integration solutions for mission critical applications; designing and developing technology solutions to drive down costs and improve scalability and resiliency; providing L4 support for mission critical applications; providing design and development leadership for a medium-size global team with a mix of full-time and consultant resources covering one or more critical applications; be a technical resource and mentor able to step in and help architect solutions and debug complex issues; using strong communication skills to effectively interface with management and business stakeholders regarding plans, approaches, and concerns; and contributing to management oversight of project staffing and budget for all development, maintenance and support of the application(s) overseen. Minimum requirements are: Bachelor's degree, or its equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field; and 7 years of experience as a hands-on technical leader in the financial services industry. Must have: Proven in-depth working knowledge of Java and large-scale middleware technologies including Tomcat, WebSphere or JMS; demonstrated experience with Java/J2EE Open Source, Spring Framework, React JS, and GWT; experience with major Oracle RDBMS environments and complex SQL; demonstrated experience with IBM Message queue, Webservices, Github, and Ant; experience with COBOL, PL/I, DB2, CICS, JCL and IBM Rational Developer for z/OS, MQ's and DB2 Stored Procedures; proven ability to efficiently diagnose and address complex technical problems; experience with RDZ/RTC application; proven communication skills and experience leading design and development decisions for medium-size teams and interacting with IT management and business stakeholders; proven ability to formulate complex technical messages as proposals to IT and business leaders; and proven collaboration skills, working with multiple teams in various locations across the globe.
