This role is a newly-created function within Distribution and has a clear focus; to be the subject matter expert on ESG labels for mutual funds within the Global Asset Management arena. As ESG Label Analyst, the role covers the entire ESG label cycle, from new application to ongoing maintenance and renewal process for the M&G fund range. This role will work closely with the ESG project, Product Development, Request For Proposal, Stewardship and Sustainability, Surveillance Monitoring and Investment teams to collect the necessary data and coordinate the multiple data sources feeding into each ESG label. This role will also the central point of contact for all aspect of ESG label communication back to the business. They will also input into the design new M&G's products to make sure they are fully eligible for labels from day one.
The role will require a self-motivated person with a passion for ESG and a good knowledge of various asset classes. It will require an organised approach as they have full responsibility for the application and internal communication process on this topic.

Key Responsibilities for this role:
Accountable for application and renewal process for all SRI labels
Work with business areas across M&G to keep submission data up to date (Stewardship and Sustainability, Product, Business Solutions, SMT, SAPI team and Investment teams)
Maintain pipeline tracker for applications and renewals of SRI labels
Manage fund SRI label application and renewals to approval, ensuring timely submission and approvals are achieved
Where relevant, ensure data is available on fund level compliance to SRI label requirements
To work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in M&G's operational risk.
Accountable for managing relationship with SRI label bodies and their associated Auditors (e.g. EY)
Understand any key changes in SRI label requirements (either restrictions or procedural) and project manage appropriate teams across M&G to implement within required timescales (Business Solutions, SAPI team, Product and Investment team)
Work with associated Auditors to manage M&G pipeline of new application and renewals to ensure timely approvals
Work with associated Auditors and internal stakeholders to facilitate on-going improvements in the application and renewal approach
Accountable for business level SRI label approach
Work with product and investment teams to understand pipeline and market targets for labels
Detail out requirements for any new SRI labels, developing or updating processes and procedures as required (e.g. restriction screening, reporting and/or compliance approach)
Understand market developments in SRI label approach and adjust the approach accordingly (e.g. development of European label)
Accountable for ensuring on-going compliance to SRI label approach
Working with the investment teams with labels to ensure on-going compliance (e.g. attestation to appropriate due diligence approach; screening approach etc.)
Working with product teams to ensure new funds comply with label requirements (e.g. prospectus/ policy wording continues to be relevant).
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Working knowledge of Global ESG labels essential
Basic knowledge of publicly listed equities and fixed income essential. Private assets knowledge desirable
2-3 + years of Asset Management experience desirable
Minimum Investment Management Certificate or equivalent
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and communicate with colleagues and clients at all levels
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
Endeavors to be up to date with any relevant legislation relating to Sustainability
