This role reports directly to BOS Head of AML Department as part of the core AML leadership team . This role reports directly to BOS Head of AML Department as part of the core AML leadership team. The AML Innovation and Analytics Team is a new function created to chart the path ahead for the AML department towards being anchored in data analytics (DA) and intelligence capabilities. This team will be mission-critical to successfully pivot the AML department towards proactive detection of ML/TF risks to the bank, dynamic monitoring of clients and using a data-driven approach to transform key AMLCFT controls in the years ahead. This specialized role will serve as a thought leader and subject matter expert to conceptualize and drive a "Future of AML" vision to institutionalize new technologies/techniques including DA, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, visual investigation tools into BOS' end-to-end AML/CFT controls and processes.
Strategize, shape and drive the "Future of AML" vision for BOS AML department in order to pivot the bank's AML/CFT capabilities to the forefront of AML industry peers.
Set up the new AML Innovation and Analytics Team in charge of charting the AI/DA path ahead for BOS AML department with vision clarity, implementation feasibility and deployment speed to respond to evolving risks and regulatory expectations.
Pioneer and own the AI/DA strategy and execution plan on an AML departmental cross-cutting basis to successfully institutionalize AI/DA techniques and other technological tools to sharpen the bank's AML/CFT controls and processes. Able to analyze, validate and maintain data quantitative models, and analytical tools/models/algorithm.
Exercise thought leadership to scan industry trends in AML/Regtech , consider constantly emerging AI/DA solutions for possible future deployment into BOS and act as subject matter expert on AI/DA solutions for the AML department.
Scope out and manage an AML intelligence roadmap and data universe to allow BOS to proactively detect ML/TF risks and perform effective dynamic monitoring of clients using internal or external data/intelligence sources.
C oordinate with seasoned AML/CFT investigators to create a seamless process for data/intel-driven investigations. To ensure deployed AI/DA solutions are augmented with investigative capabilities on clients/transactions to achieve effective outcomes.
Synergise and partner with internal (Compliance Transformation, BOS innovation Lab, OCBC AI Lab) and external stakeholders (peer FIs, regulators and authorities) to develop and define use cases for proactive and dynamic monitoring of ML/TF risks.
Participate in the MAS AMLCFT Controls Strategic Uplift project at OCBC Group-level as a key AI/DA expert in the area of tax evasion and PEP-related risks from a private banking angle.
Qualifications Work Experience and Technical Skills
Degree with minimum 10 years of relevant work experience, involving both AML and AI/data analytics-related roles.
Deep expertise and knowledge in AI/data analytics, machine learning techniques, modelling, and programming skills.
Experience in design and management of AML/CFT monitoring programs, data management, quantitative and analytical models.
Strong awareness of fast-evolving AI/DA solutions and techniques in the global industry related to AMLCFT controls and a good network with industry stakeholders in the AML/Regtech space.
Good understanding and active awareness of regulatory expectations in Singapore, international developments, emerging risks / typologies and global trends in relation to AMLCFT and data analytics/governance.
Strong strategic outlook and visionary traits to chart the path ahead on the future of AMLCFT work and an understanding of a best-in-class AMLCFT AI/DA framework in this area.
