The role is for a Cloud Platform Engineer with the Global Infrastructure group; responsible for definition of platform strategy and the delivery of global solutions for both public and private cloud adoption. The successful candidate will have a vital role in shaping future strategy and direction within the organization and must possess a relevant experience in the implementation and use of virtualisation and automation solutions.
Role / Principal Accountabilities:
Enhance virtualisation functionality within the cloud platform
Design and implement self-service functionality to enable end-user task efficiencies.
Develop automated testing and integration mechanisms to speed up patch and upgrade deployments
Identify and validate product enhancements delivering new or improved functionality and features
Develop solutions to provide operational efficiencies for common tasks
Validate new product releases for use within the environment
Work closely with global operational counterparts to ensure stable and healthy virtualisation platform
Strong problem solving skills
Track record in IT Engineering
An ability to work well as part of a global team and independently as required.

In-depth understanding of the full VMWare suite including ESX/HA/DRS/vMotion, networking and storage vMotion (ESXi 6 or above)
Exposure to VMWare tools and utilities i.e. vRealize automation or operations manager
Experience of using Configuration Management Solutions such as Ansible to provide the ability to deploy, patch and maintain server end point configuration
