To add value to the strategic direction, planning and performance of the Retail Banking Risk department and to ensure that the Collections department is managed efficiently and effectively, to enable it to meet business objectives.
The Role Responsibilities & Our Ideal Candidate
Strategy and Policy
To ensure effective portfolio monitoring mechanisms are in place, including early warning mechanisms and contingency plans.
Develop and execute new initiatives to achieve collections and recovery target setting, LI budgeting and forecasting.
To support the reduction of credit operation costs through improvement in efficiency and effectiveness of credit operation processes/ strategies.
Processes and Operations
Manage Specialized Collection Team to deliver on performance and ensure governance to policies and regulations.
Ensure compliance of regulatory requirement and internal policies for all collection activities.
Implement the ORF as planned and on a timely basis, and proactively and rigorously evaluate ORF controls whenever there are changes in high risk processes. Continuously improve collection processes to enhance to reduce operational risks.
To ensure good control mechanisms are in place and to ensure satisfactory audit clearance.
Offer assistance to those customers having financial problems through negotiation, settlement and forbearance programs.
Execute collection strategies in order to manage an acceptable level of credit loss and maximize recovery return through in house collection action for mortgage accounts, detailed account review and legal proceedings.
Enforce early legal actions to mitigate emerging risks.
Oversee the mortgage collections and repossession processes.
Manage law firm performance as well as property agents to ensure its operational assurance in accordance with the Bank's standard..
Tools and Technology
Champion continuous process improvements, up skill collection techniques, upgrade collection tools and optimize collections systems.
Making optimal use of all collection tools and using analytical and data segmentation to enhance collection efficiency.
