The main aspects of the role are:

• Provide insight and operational guidance to the Finance and HR team and manage the operations within the team
• Contribute to administration and governance strategies for the broader team
• Contribute to continuing improvement processes across the team
• Provide technical expertise in evaluating requirements, analysing data and contributing to technical design documents
• Liaise closely with the architecture, development, testing and analysis functions to implement optimal solutions
• Work closely with the business and project teams to manage deliverable's, tracking progress and updating relevant stakeholders
• Manage outsourcing of deliverable's to third parties, including on-going communications, holding regular project meetings and charting progress

Although the base location of the role is in Southampton you will initially be working remotely, however longer term the expectation is to be in the office 2/3 days per week.

About the role

Some of the key responsibilities of this role are:

Technology Product Delivery

• Leads, delivers and maintains a defined portfolio of technology products and services to enable a subset of a business or function's strategic goals and deliver well designed, operationally resilient technology solutions.
• Owns product delivery (via appropriate methodologies) across Run and Change for assigned technology products.
• Manages the lifecycle of products from inception, analysis, design, development, and testing through to delivery and maintenance.

Technology Supplier Management

• Maintains oversight and ownership of IT Suppliers engaged in delivering technology solutions, including supplier onboarding, performance and exit.
• Develops and maintains a sustainable plan for Technology Suppliers engaged in delivering technology solutions, including performance, spend and status.
• Ensures a single view of Technology Supplier risks for the technology solution and drives a prioritised risk mitigation process.

Leadership and People Management

• Provides clear directions to team members about business priorities and performance expectations.
• Deploys teams in an effective way, balancing delivery of goals with skill development.
• Encourages collaboration, teamwork and open communication within the team and across the function.

About you

The successful applicant will have the following:

• Robust technology delivery experience
• Proven track record managing a technical team
• Proven track record within a Project Management environment, including co-ordination and planning of actions and resources
• Good knowledge of Finance and HR business functions and associated technology solutions
• Exposure to SaaS vendor products such as Workday
• Experience of Financial Services environments and systems preferable (but not essential)
• Ability to compile technical documentation, including requirements, specification documentation and testing
• Strong analytical skills able to recommend and implement best operational practices
• Good interpersonal skills are required to develop close working relationships with colleagues, clients and third-party supplies
