Senior SQL Database Administrator | Linux, Azure, Automation | Top 5 Hedge Fund in Boston

One of Boston's top Hedge Funds has had an elite track record of success over the past 4.5 years; they have doubled their AUM since then, and manage over $100+ Billion. They are building out a new cloud team to redefine the scope and performance of their databases and data processing systems. This team will work in a greenfield environment, designing brand new SQL Sever automation and cloud solutions from scratch.

In this role, you will participate in database transformations, architecture, and implementation in the private and public cloud. This team has an opportunity to immediately make a significant impact by identifying opportunities for automation and eliminating repetitive processes. You will also have the opportunity to vastly expand your cloud expertise, as this team will operate at the forefront of this firm's journey to the cloud.

Transform 24x7 business critical trading infrastructure:

• Migrate SQL Server infrastructure to the cloud, and build new cloud-native solutions from scratch
• Perform debugging, performance tuning, query analysis and optimization
• Implement solutions for early detection of potential issues, identify repetitive processes, and create new automation solutions
• Support and maintain existing 24x7 business critical SQL infrastructure

Required Qualifications:

• BS or equivalent degree
• 5+ years of experience directly supporting SQL Server Databases
• Expertise with SQL Server and SQL, particularly for debugging, performance tuning, query optimization, early detection of potential issues
• Experience scripting with TSQL, PowerShell, or BASH
• Experience with Linux Systems and Environments

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in Financial Services, ideally supporting performance sensitive trading systems
• Experience with Azure or Azure SQL Database
