Our client are currently one of the best performing early stage VC funds within the Middle East. They are looking for an energetic and innovative Accountant with experience working in a PE/VC Finance team, to join as a Finance Manager, working directly alongside the COO.

This would be the perfect position for ambitious individuals looking to take the next step in their career within a role that would allow them to have full oversight over all of the fund and management accounting within the fund. Taking on a lot of responsibility from day one, this individual will also have significant exposure to financial modelling, budgeting and process improvements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Have complete oversight over everything prepared by third party administrator and outsourced accounting team
  • Prepare timely and accurate Net Assets Values, distributions, and other fund accounting output
  • Prepare pro-forma financial statements and projected financial statements for the funds, including IRR calculations
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting packages for fund entities. This includes updating portfolio investment schedules, portfolio company summaries, and preparing capital account statements
  • Write reports periodically to management on Fund activities and other related issues
  • Research, as assigned, certain securities in Fund portfolios for the purpose of ensuring proper accounting treatment
  • Manage investor inquiries and information requests, including audit confirmations
  • Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
  • Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets
  • Support COO with projects and tasks when required

YOUR PROFILE:
  • Relevant accounting experience preferably working for a VC/PE fund, sovereign wealth fund or investment bank
  • ACA, ACCA, CPA, CFA or similar financial qualification is preferable
  • Extremely proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • A self-starter who has strong drive and the ability to self-direct/manage their own time and productivity
