On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Senior IT Buyer for a 6 Month contract based in London. Purpose of the Senior IT Buyer Role: The Senior IT Buyer will be responsible for contributing to the optimisation of cost base by delivering savings while respecting sustainable development for targeted areas. As a Senior IT Buyer you will be responsible for: - Commercially managing sourcing activity (RFI's/RFP's/RFQ's) for projects ensuring agreed business objectives and quality standards are delivered on time and on budget.
- Assisting the business in defining and developing the business need and challenging requirements.
- Developing IT sourcing strategies and supplier networks for specified areas of spend, to meet CIB or UK territory needs.
- Gathering and analysing data and information on spend, supply markets, supplier costs, and performance to assess these for opportunities.
- Developing annual category action plans.
- Supporting the implementation of agreed sourcing strategies and monitoring progress, and taking action as necessary to achieve targets and improvements in cost, quality, service and innovation
- Providing colleagues and internal clients at all levels in the different business lines with expert advice and guidance in order to enable them to understand and maximize the benefits achievable from good practice in supplier management, contractualisation and Procurement process.
- Identifying, recommending, negotiating, and implementing contractual changes as required in order to ensure costs and services evolve to match changing business needs and priorities.
- Working closely with the Legal team and/or external counsel to understand and manage legal risks associated with supplier contracts, and ensuring compliance with relevant law and regulation.
- Ensuring the necessary approvals have been gained eg IT Information Security, Compliance, London Branch Outsourcing Third Party Committee, Anti Bribery and Corruption Assessment, Vendor Risk Assessment and Financial Sanctions.
- Contributing to the development and promotion of Procurement models, standards and policies covering procedures, documentation, governance, vendor risk management etc to drive consistency and good practice.
- Proactively participating in strategic developments that impact the category or function - especially any major investments, outsourcing initiatives or policy changes
- Carrying out procurement-related functional projects to deliver agreed benefits within timescales and costs
- Supporting the CPO in the management of the UK territory Procurement governance
- Participating in the UK territory Steering Committees and the production of accurate and timely management information to both Group and the main businesses
- Assisting in the management of an effective benefits tracking process for Procurement that integrates with the current business wide tools and KPI measures.
- Ensuring Procurement Systems are used correctly and kept up to date, eg Ariba, Ivalua
What we require from the candidate: - 3-5 years Procurement experience ideally within a global Procurement function
- Financial Services experience
- Has led complex Procurement projects
- Has led negotiations and demonstrated strong buying skills - proven track record of savings
- Experience of negotiating vendor contracts / SOWs / addendums
- Familiarity with Category Management / Strategic Sourcing process an advantage
- Project Management skills advantageous
- Has used Procurement tools e.g. Ariba / Ivalua etc (advantageous)
- Degree / Post-graduate qualified or equivalent
- Strong Stakeholder engagement & influencing skills
- Good communication & presentation skills (active listener and clear communication)
