Technology Architecture and Data is the enterprise wide architecture and data services group at BNY Mellon. This person is a subject matter expert in several of the tools/technologies used in the space. Leads the development infrastructure engineering growth strategies and initiatives. Leads initiatives to analyze complex infrastructure problems to be solved with advanced design. Leads the evaluation of the effectiveness of the organization's existing infrastructure technology and tools. Analyzes trends to develop strategy for the implementation of upgrades that will enhance the reliability, Resiliency and efficiency of the IT infrastructure. Provides leadership to execute project plans and performance requirements for all stages/phases through the management of human capital resources. Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred 10-12 years of related experience required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
Architect cloud environments from inception through production
Drive specific platform roadmaps including analysis, design, development and implementation plans based upon best practices
Build orchestration and automation mechanisms to enable access to public cloud provider platforms
Manage cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines and controls
Ensure solutions are designed and implemented for high availability, scalability, security and supportability
Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required.
Employ exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and solve issues proactively.
Develop patterns, standards and best practices.
At least 3 years of Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon AWS administration and/or development experience
Experience with production workloads running in the cloud is a must.
Experience with design, architecture and engineering of cloud environments from scratch. An application development background with distributed applications (Java, service-oriented architectures) is a plus.
Strong Terraform or similar infrastructure as code (IaC) experience, along with DevOps and CI/CD experience. Usage of tools such as Packer, Ansible, Jenkins, Gitlab strongly preferred.
Knowledge of containerization and container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker
Familiarity with standard IT security practices such as identity and access management, data protection, encryption, secrets and key management.
