Accounting Manager-Real Estate Investment

Responsible for all aspects of the Company's 10Q and 10K, footnote disclosures, MD&A, proxy statements and earnings releases
 Participate in implementation and improvement of financial reporting systems
Assist in the preparation of internal documents including presentations for the Audit Committee and Disclosure Committee
Perform accounting research and prepare or review accounting memos on various complex accounting transactions 
Coordinate with external parties in the filing process, including coordination of timetables and communication with external auditors, internal auditors, and tax preparers
Oversee all aspects of SOX and establish best practices, processes, policies, and procedures surrounding internal controls
Interface with internal and external auditors regarding SEC reporting issues
Coordinate investor relations with third party custodian to ensure tax reporting is delivered to investors by tax deadline
Open bank accounts and manage treasury process for the portfolio
Review monthly, quarterly, and annual reports of the properties that are prepared by third parties
Assist Controller with Cash management as well as financial reporting needs for the portfolio 
 Assist with day-to-day, monthly, and year-end financial operations including budget review and analysis
Manage the processing of cash receipts, recording of receivables, and work closely with Controller to ensure that revenues and receivables are properly allocated and reconciled
 Other duties and special projects as assigned 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong interpersonal skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years of accounting experience (public accounting and/or external reporting at a publicly traded company preferred)
CPA certification is a plus
Commercial Real Estate accounting experience required
Big 4 or National CPA firm with public clients (preferably in the Real Estate Industry)
Experience with Yardi and MRI required
SEC Reporting experience required
REIT experience highly preferred
Strong attention to detail
Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines
Ability to maintain good working relationships with vendors and other employees
Ability to function as a team player
