Our client is a leading global alternative investment manager (Private Equity Fund of Funds), which originated from the family office of a German industrial family. The firm is looking to expand its PE Finance team in Germany, in which the new Financial Reporting Associate will play a key role. In this position, you will work closely with the finance and investment teams, overseeing data entry and data quality. The position is based in the Frankfurt area, Germany.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare quarterly and ad hoc reports covering private equity fund of funds, secondary funds and co-investments as well as handling managed accounts and additional investor requests
  • Review large data sets (cost, fair value, total invested, proceeds, etc.) from the underlying funds, alerting the team to any discrepancies
  • Understand and process financial statements from the underlying funds and portfolio companies
  • Work closely with the finance and investment teams, overseeing data entry and data quality
  • Translation of deal descriptions and market updates from English to German
  • Support the documentation of current processes
  • Contribute to the implementation of new processes and technologies to further automate reports
YOUR PROFILE
  • University degree in Business Administration, Finance or related disciplines
  • Initial relevant work experience in accounting, gained either directly at a private equity fund, a fund of funds or an audit department of a Big 4 company
  • Sound understanding of accounting rules
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and follow projects through to completion; accustomed to working independently
  • Strong MS Office skills are essential; previous experience with Investran, Burgiss, Power BI or other business intelligence /software tools relevant to private equity fund administration is a plus
  • Fluency in German and English is required
