What you will be responsible for As Platform Engineer you will
Design, and implement robust data platform services such as Kafka, databases on top of Kubernetes and Docker. Services must meet High Availability, Observability, Scalability and Maintainability standards set forth by the team
Develop, deliver, and maintan high quality implementations
Collaborate with other developers on the team and with other organizational entities within State Street
Maintain documentation to describe functionality, configuration, testing and changes as applicable
Anticipate failures in production and create runbooks ahead of time to self-repair

Strong background of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms

Language proficiency in Java or Python or GoLang on Linux platform
Education & Preferred Qualifications
A degree in computer science or equivalent experience acquired on the job. 5 years of industry experience is required
Working knowledge on at least one cloud provider - AWS or Azure or Google Cloud
Experience with design and implementation of large scale systems using one of preferred languages
Knowledge of SQL, Data Warehouse, Scripting, CICD, SRE, Observability is a plus
